F&B Growth in Shopping Centers: A Laxe Reports +11% in 2025 and Strengthens Its Experiential Positioning

Food & Beverage continues to be one of the strongest growth drivers within the retail real estate sector. In this context, A Laxe closed 2025 with an 11.3% increase in total F&B sales compared to 2024, further consolidating its repositioning as an experiential urban leisure destination in the heart of Vigo. On a like-for-like basis, F&B operators recorded a 6.5% growth, confirming the structural strength of the category and its strategic weight within the asset’s tenant mix

F&B as a Core Driver of Asset Repositioning

This performance is the result of a deliberate repositioning strategy implemented in recent years, aimed at reinforcing A Laxe’s identity as a waterfront leisure destination.

Its prime location facing the Vigo estuary, combined with open-air terraces and direct integration with the city center, has enabled the asset to attract new audiences and increase visit frequency. F&B has evolved from a complementary offer into a primary activity driver, aligned with broader retail trends where experience, dwell time and social engagement are key performance indicators.

Space Activation and Programming Strategy

A key factor behind this growth has been the active programming of the terrace and outdoor areas. Throughout 2025, A Laxe hosted both third-party initiatives and internally developed events, strengthening its role as an urban meeting point.

The annual agenda included themed events such as wine and beer festivals, electronic music sessions and open cultural activities. Established initiatives like the open-air cinema during summer months continued to enhance seasonal footfall.

A particularly relevant milestone was the partnership with Marisquiño, one of Vigo’s most emblematic urban festivals. The collaboration brought dedicated activities to A Laxe and will continue in future editions, reinforcing the asset’s integration within the city’s cultural and social ecosystem.

An Open, City-Integrated Retail Model

A Laxe’s evolution reflects a growing model within the European retail landscape: urban assets that function as natural extensions of the city, combining F&B, leisure, events and services in open, experience-led environments.

At a time when Food & Beverage continues to gain share within shopping centers, A Laxe demonstrates how a coherent positioning strategy, targeted programming and strong urban integration can translate into sustained commercial growth and asset consolidation.

Looking ahead to 2026, the center will continue to deepen this strategic direction, further strengthening its role as a waterfront leisure hub and a dynamic urban asset in Vigo.
